New Work

Untitled, 5 feet x 3 1/2 inches x 1 1/2 feet, acrylic, wood, light, resin, 2008.
I'm interested in placing the viewer beyond ordinary space and time. Its not to depict a particular moment but more a immediate sense that one may get in the present.

Heekyu!

This piece is utterly breathtaking. I had the pleasure of getting up to Olafur Eliasson's show at the Moma (and PS1) last week. If you have a chance, there are some new bus services doing roundtrip tickets to Penn Station from DC for like 5$ [megabus.com and boltbus.com]. I really recommend it! Otherwise, I was really looking forward to visiting Suitland a few weeks ago, but all-of-a-sudden it was June 10th and I suspected everyone would be home. Are you around this summer? I am here until mid-July and would love to see you if you're free. Again, the work you've been posting here is really really incredible.

(If you respond to this, I'll get it in my email)

xoxo,
Isaac

P.S.

Would you be interested in coming out to Naropa some time this coming year to talk about your work? I know that the chair of the department just got a bunch of money to bring visiting artists out and there's something incredibly pertinent and evocative about the conflation of minimalist sculptural tradition and traditional Buddhist thangka imagery in the context of the type of arts education kids get at Naropa... i mean, hell- we have 4 levels of Thangka Painting classes!
